  Cue Tips
The cue tip is the most important part of the cue stick. The tip will affect the english (pectus), and any miscues (pumipiyok, dumudulas). Tips are made of leather and range in density from soft to hard.

Soft tips tend to mushroom, require more frequent grooming to retain their shape, thus more frequent replacement. The sides of a tip that is too soft will tend to collapse when striking a ball with english.

Hard tips resist mushrooming, require less grooming to retain shape and last longer. Hard tips need to be scuffed more frequently so that the chalk will hold properly. Most professionals prefer medium to hard tips because they hold their shape better than softer tips thus enhancing shot-to-shot consistency of performance.

Elk Master - Soft tips made of cow hide
Le Professional - Medium tips made of cow hide
Triumph - Hard tips made of cowhide with fibra
Water Buffalo - Extra hard tips made of asian water buffalo. These are 3X more durable than cowhide because of its higher density.

Cue Chalks
Purpose to increase friction between the tip and cue ball, to avoid miscues. The common cue chalk colors are green and blue. Robson Sportscraft distributes 6 colors of chalk: Blue, Green, Black, Purple, Red and Peach available in gross (144 pcs assorted colors) or box of 12's (1 color).
