Alamo / Flite Tite
In this standard shafts, the shank is plastic and the tip is aluminum metal. This arrangement is meant to offer the option of repair, as opposed to junking. Should one damage a tip, it is simple matter of unscrewing the old tip and installing the new one. But this concept of replacing tips when damaged did not prosper.
Super Spin
This is Robson’s brand of the plastic–metal rotating shaft. The shank is made of plastic and the tips are aluminum.
This is revolving top shafts wherein the tip of the shaft rotates when hit by an incoming dart, thus deflecting the darts. This concept of anti-deflection or rotating tops is to minimize bounce outs due to deflections. The second advantage of an anti-deflection shaft is to facilitate better dart grouping. The third advantage is to minimize wear and tear of flights as flights will rotate when hit by a dart rather absorb the impact of the hit. |
